Tara & Jordan (Part 2) | Richmond Wedding Photographer

Love

If you saw my post last week, you may have swooned over the magical portraits we captured of Tara & Jordan at the Jefferson Hotel. As a Richmond wedding photographer, the Jefferson is one of my favorite luxury places for photos and I was beyond thrilled with the magazine-quality images T&J helped me create. I could truly not have imagined a better start to my 2024 wedding year!

The Celebration at the Tuckahoe Women’s Club

Today I am sharing the rest of their beautiful day from last month, celebrated at the Tuckahoe Women’s Club here in Richmond. My first wedding of 2023 was at this venue and it was fitting that my first 2024 wedding would be too!

Bride and her bridesmaid in a garden

Tara had her sister as her one and only bridesmaid, and their love and joy with one another was so special to experience!

A Persian-American Wedding Ceremony

Tara is Persian and Jordan is American, and it was so sweet to see elements of Persian culture honored throughout the wedding day! They had two officiants, one doing the traditional marriage ceremony most of us would expect to experience at a wedding, and the other officiant sealing their marriage in Persian! As a multicultural wedding photographer, seeing two cultures come together to make something new and beautiful is my favorite!

Cocktail Hour in the Garden

Because they allowed SO MUCH TIME for us to do portraits before the ceremony, Tara & Jordan were able to head right into cocktail hour with their guests, after a brief break for family portraits!

My second shooter and I always prioritize photographing our couple’s guests during cocktail hour and the reception! We want your guests to have a pretty portrait, and you to have a pretty memory of their presence!

Reception Details and the Persian Knife Dance

Reception time! The TWC space was gorgeously created by both Tara and her coordinator, Marta!

After their first dance, T&J had a traditional Persian knife dance. In this dance, the groom (Jordan) had dance and pay his way into obtaining the cake-cutting knife from a member of Tara’s family (her sister). It was so fun and playful to watch!!

These chandeliers were just the prettiest ambiance!

Go for the group photo. Do it! Always! It is such a fun memory.

Now for my potentially favorite part of the night… dress change + Bentley photos!! After falling in love with the Bentley at the Jefferson earlier in the day, I swooned all over again in these night shots!

Back in for more dancing!

And before we know it, it’s time to go…

Oh how I love being a Richmond wedding photographer! And capturing couples like Jordan & Tara at the Jefferson & the Tuckahoe Women’s Club! SO MANY MORE amazing Richmond couples coming this year — stay tuned!
